Sea Petal

Sea Petal is a turtle sculpture that sits in Bird Island Park. The sculpture was originally on display at the Cummer Museum of Art & Gardens for the 2010 Turtle Trails Project which benefited the Child Guidance Center.

The sculpture was sponsored by THE PLAYERS. Ezequiel Bujosa submitted the winning design during the 2009 Very Special Arts Festival at the Cummer Museum. Ezequiel and his classmates from the Livingston Elementary School painted his design onto the turtle during the Weaver Academy of Art’s after-school program at the Cummer Museum. The after-school program brings the arts to underserved elementary school-aged children. Sea Petal was donated to the Bird Island Park by THE PLAYERS in 2010.
