The Gilded Cage: An Immersive Mystery Dinner

Catalyst Theatre, in partnership with The Venue – Hastings, announces the premiere of The Gilded Cage: An Immersive Mystery Dinner. Designed as a fully integrated theatrical and culinary event, this original experience brings the community together through interactive storytelling, live music, and regional fine dining.

Set in 1928 inside an exclusive speakeasy, The Gilded Cage invites audiences directly into an interactive murder mystery filled with secrets and unexpected twists. The production showcases entirely original works developed through a collaboration featuring an ensemble of nine local actors and a live four-piece band performing period-inspired, original arrangements throughout the night.

Event Highlights & Production Details

• Theatrical Experience: An original murder mystery narrative carried out by an interactive ensemble of nine actors.
• Live Music: Musical scoring and live arrangements performed by a four-piece ensemble throughout the evening.
• Gourmet Dining: A cocktail reception featuring passed hors d’oeuvres followed by a three-course dinner. Menus are curated by Chef Matthew Brown (Oct. 2 & 3) and Chef Ellie Shultze (Oct. 30).

• Community Impact: A portion of all event proceeds directly benefits Hastings Main Street to support local revitalization efforts.
