Graphic designer, artist, and first responder Luke Nehemias has called St. Augustine home since graduating from Flagler College in 2006. He used his degree in graphic design to design SJC Fire and Rescue logos and paint murals at stations that need a little morale boost. He and his cousin, a professional seaside muralist Lucinda Nehemias, were selected by a panel from a statewide call for artists initiated by the St. Johns Cultural Council to paint a mural on the garage door of a small building located next to the fire station Luke works from.
The duo completed a sea turtle mural in September. This mural was made possible with support from the St. Johns Cultural Council, the St. Augustine Beach Civic Association, the City of St. Augustine Beach, and the St. Johns County Tourist Development Council.
