Flagler College commissioned this 30-ft long fountain and tile mosaic to celebrate the impact of the college on the City of St. Augustine. The mosaic, which depicts the historic Hotel Ponce de Leon and the surrounding city, was a Flagler-driven project designed by Callie Cheney, who collaborated with 16 other graphic arts students from Don Martin’s to install the tiles. The students worked with local public artists Jan Masters and Wendy Mandel to facilitate the execution of the project.
Delta Fountains and Hauber Flower and Associates created the traditional fountain that seamlessly blends with the Spanish-style college campus. The mosaic is adjacent to Hanke Hall, an admissions and financial aid center. It is a wonderful welcome to all newcomers and returning students.
