The Flamingos and Greetings from St. Augustine at The Local

What is more iconically Florida than sunshine, waves, and flamingos? Maybe relaxing by the pool or the beach, which is likely what you do when you visit The Local. The Local offers an iconic Americana hotel experience and commissioned the Future Friends Co. to design the murals that surround the pool to allow that atmosphere to come to life. The design collective embodied the soul of St. Augustine living with vibrant colors, graphic simplicity, and Florida elements encompassed throughout the entire space from each mural to the fence. The iconography is reminiscent of retro Florida complete with a welcoming sign which echoes the inn’s unique rooms meant to give each visitor a nostalgic, local experience.

The vibrant hues of sunrises, waves, and flamingos carry the local seaside charm throughout the inn. The Local is a must-see public art destination for those who want to immerse themselves in modern culture before they dive into the history of the oldest European city in the United States.
